BFBO and our course/webinar contributors
Joanne Lynne is an osteopathic manual therapist with extensive experience in both clinical practice and education. She has lectured nationally on the importance of osteopathy in pediatrics and collaborates with international osteopaths, teaching practitioners world-wide, virtually. She is head of the BFBO course creation team and administration. Her work bridges advanced clinical knowledge in paediatrics and natal care with practical tools to enhance therapeutic outcomes and elevate patient care. She graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in 2015 at the top of her class, winning the prestigious Andrew Taylor Still Award of Excellence.
Having trained under Robert Harris (CST, RMT) in Toronto at the Cranial Therapy Centre in paediatric cranio-sacral techniques, and under Dr. Jonathan Evans Registered Osteopath (Australia), Joanne is earning a Masters of Arts in Learning and Technology.
Established in 2021, we featured Dr. Malisa Gambacorta DDS, on Understanding Tethered Oral Tissues, laying the foundation for our TOTS course and upgraded by the salient points of Dr. Mandeep Johal (DDS) Integrative Approaches to Airway Health: Collaboration Between Osteopathy and Dentistry (2024). Dr. Johal is an esteemed airway dentist and international speaker, focussing on the need for collaboration between professionals.
Terra Nicolle, OMP, RMT, PFT, a national speaker and well-known therapist, joined our powerhouse of instructors. Her educational background has channeled her into the realms of pregnancy and birth. Terra conducts frequent mission projects in isolated, 3rd world country villages. These experiences train their female populations in birth and delivery. Both our Assessing Pregnancy and Treating Pregnancy courses feature Terra's vast experiences, merging osteopathy and natal changes in the human body.
Dr. Dustin Costescu, Ob/Gyn is an esteemed and well-known physician. His perspectives help shape our osteopathic manual therapists to understand the trauma endured by the fetus/baby. Funny and knowledgeable, Dr. Dustin's live presentation was well received (2022). This webinar led to the development of the course Birth and Its Mechanisms of Injury.
The thirst for paediatric knowledge has escaladed in Canada! BFBO recruited Dr. Jonathan Evans, Registered Osteopath (Australia). Creating an alliance, the Treating Babies Apprenticeship is a combination of online and live supportive coaching. The first of its kind in Canada, the first cohort was formed in January 2022.
During the summer of 2022, Intra Oral Treatment was released. Taught by Joanne Lynne, it is the perfect fit to follow the TOTS course. Joanne created this course by drawing from her years of experience treating babies and working with dentists and LC's.
Later that same year, Caylea Davidson, (DOMP, RMT) began collaborating with BFBO by offering in-person taping courses geared towards pregnancy. She is highly skilled in KT Taping techniques, and trained to teach this valuable method of support to others.
In late 2023, 2 new courses were developed: Paediatric Manual Therapy Concepts and Treating the Infant Cranium launched in the fall. These courses help practitioners just starting out with paeds.
In May 2024, the course Infant Latch, the Jaw and Tongue was released. It is a more advanced course for practitioners who have been working with babies already but need a boost in how to assess latch disorders.
When you buy a course it becomes part of your "Learning Library", available to you for review as often as you like for a period of 6 months from the start date. Access to a "Bundles purchase" is available to you for 1 year.
To help practitioners give parents proper guidance for home care of baby conditions, in early 2025 we launched the mini course What Parents Should Do At Home.
Lastly, (new! 2025) BFBO launched the Learning Membership, a way to achieve fulfillment of continuing education credits through viewing of bi-monthly lessons. New videos and webinar replays are dropped to the Learning Library and is viewable in perpetuity, for a very low monthly fee.
